PREPLANNING CONSIDERATIONS?
The very first thing you need to figure out is where the final destination is going to be for your brand new exercise bike? If you have not had your new bike delivered yet make sure the delivery crew drops it where it is supposed to go in whatever room you decide. Please do not have them drop it off in the garage or anywhere else you do not plan on using it.
The second thing to consider is what you want to keep underneath the exercise bike. If the room the bike is going in has carpet, I would say this is ok as a final flooring surface. But if you have any type of hard surface such as; hardwood, tile, laminate, vinyl plank, concrete, etc. I would suggest using a large yoga mat suited for gym equipment. Or have some gym foam pads to put under the exercise bike. I highly suggest using some sort of padding for hard floors to protect them from getting scratched and damaged.
And if you have not yet ordered the exercise bike and still are on the fence. A lot of the newer models have built in TV screen displays. They even have a trainer doing videos for you to keep up with and train.
Some of these exercise bikes are really simple in design with no TV screen, and they can fold up. To very heavy and complex machines. I would say the more high end complex bikes allow you to adjust for features such as the seat, handlebars, and tension of the flywheel. The weight of the flywheel can be adjusted to make it more difficult or less difficult to pedal. Another excellent tool to help with training.
MY BIKE CAME DAMAGED OR HAS MISSING PARTS?
First, relax and breathe…This happens a lot more than you think. Remember your product has gone through so many different phases in its life cycle.
The product starts off as raw materials, then gets manufactured somewhere, then gets packaged and stored at some warehouse/location. Then eventually you order it online or at the store. Finally, it gets put on a delivery vehicle and dropped at your doorstep.
A lot of moving parts are involved with this entire process. Sometimes quality control has bad days, and people make mistakes. I've seen where the product and box are damaged. This could've been during shipping. I've seen where hardware or parts are missing, which means it failed a QC test.
At the end of the day though, if you ordered the EXERCISE BIKE online from a major company. Most of the time as long as you reach back out to the company quickly. They will send you the replacement or damaged product or pieces for free. And I will always 100% let you know if something is damaged or missing before I start building.
And if your product did end up having a damaged or missing part. Plan for at least a couple of weeks or longer for the manufacturer to fulfill the replacement order. Especially nowadays after the pandemic, everything will take longer than usual. Having realistic expectations will go a long way.
