PORTABLE BASKETBALL HOOP CONSIDERATIONS
Before I get into this. I will advise that I do not install in-ground basketball hoops. This requires digging a hole and pouring concrete to set as the footer foundation. I'm not currently equipped to carry out this type of installation. However, if you just have a regular portable basketball hoop, continue reading.
If however, you bought just the basketball hoop portion and not the pole with the bottom part. And you wanted to screw and secure the top part only to some other existing wall surface. I can help assist with this as well.
But back to the portable basketball hoop. I would say the biggest thing to think about is how you want to weigh down the hoop? A lot of these products have a hollow bottom portion with an opening to fill it up. Probably the easiest way is to fill it with water, but you could fill it with sand as well if the opening is large enough.
Even simpler is just putting large heavy objects right on top of the bottom portion of the hoop. With items such as; rocks, cement blocks, gym weights, bags of sand, etc.
MY BASKETBALL HOOP CAME DAMAGED OR HAS MISSING PARTS?
First, relax and breathe…This happens a lot more than you think. Remember your product has gone through so many different phases in its life cycle.
The product starts off as raw materials, then gets manufactured somewhere, then gets packaged and stored at some warehouse/location. Then eventually you order it online or at the store. Finally, it gets put on a delivery vehicle and dropped at your doorstep.
A lot of moving parts are involved with this entire process. Sometimes quality control has bad days, and people make mistakes. I've seen where the product and box are damaged. This could've been during shipping. I've seen where hardware or parts are missing, which means it failed a QC test.
At the end of the day though, if you ordered the BASKETBALL HOOP online from a major company. Most of the time as long as you reach back out to the company quickly. They will send you the replacement or damaged product or pieces for free. And I will always 100% let you know if something is damaged or missing before I start building.
And if your product did end up having a damaged or missing part. Plan for at least a couple of weeks or longer for the manufacturer to fulfill the replacement order. Especially nowadays after the pandemic, everything will take longer than usual. Having realistic expectations will go a long way.
