VESA HOLE PATTERN?
It's a standardized system adopted by TV manufacturers. It is the measurement vertically and horizontally of the four holes behind your TV. This is how the wall mount bracket attaches behind your TV.
Two ways to find the dimensions are directly in your owner's manual or simply by measuring them. It is measured in millimeters so if you use a standard fraction tape measure google the conversion online, easy! Then just match up to the wall mount you get and that's how you know it will fit. Common sizes are;
200x200mm
300x200mm
300x300mm
400x200mm
400x400mm
600x200mm

800x200mm

WALL MOUNT BRACKET
This is the most important part of the entire installation! When shopping online or in a store they have endless options of different wall mount brackets. It can get very confusing and overwhelming real quick.
Before I get into the wall mount brackets I DO recommend. I want to first talk about the wall bracket I DO NOT recommend. And this is what I call the "X" looking bracket. This piece of garbage hardware should not even be allowed to float in the marketplace anymore... The way it is engineered and designed is NOT capable of hanging any TV bigger than 35", period!
The vast majority of TVs I hang 9/10 are bigger than 35".
The most common wall brackets out there are; Flat no tile, Flat with tilt only, Flat half tiling, corner mounts, ceiling mounts, and various full motion swing with tilt.
With corner and ceiling mount brackets. My advice is to avoid these if possible but if you have no choice, you have no choice. But I will help advise you on what type of corner or ceiling bracket to get.
My #1 wall mount bracket I always recommend is the Full Motion TV Wall Mount Bracket. They make many different variations of this style and plenty to choose from as well. Depending on how big your TV is and if you have the outlets already installed on the wall high above. This will determine which type of full motion wall mount to get.
And of course, I will guide you and advise exactly which wall mount bracket to buy for your specific installation. Especially with any stone or masonry wall application. Since the wall is not going to be flat or smooth like drywall for instance. I have to accommodate the fluctuating wall surface of the stone.
OTHER SUPPLIES
For example, let's say you do not have any outlets already installed high above your stone wall where you want to mount the TV. But there is an outlet somewhere else close by on that wall down below, possibly to the left or right of where you want to mount it.
You have two options one being the easy and economical way. The second is very difficult if even possible and will be way more expensive. The easy and economical way is to run an extension cord inside a plastic cord cover conceal kit. And this sticks to the stone wall surface and has a clean look.
The plastic cord cover kit is paintable and easily removable as well.
The more difficult and expensive way is to run new electrical wiring and box, etc. Depending on your specific situation this may or may not even be possible, within reason.
Every install is case by case. And I will need all the information first before helping you figure out how to handle this installation.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS?
If you plan on hooking up other devices such as; a soundbar, cable tv box, DVD player, gaming system, surround sound entertainment, apple tv, amazon firestick, or whatever else you decide. It's important to let me know ahead of time everything else you want to hook up to the TV before installation.
Sometimes it works out where the soundbar can sit right on top of the fireplace mantel. Sometimes I have to mount the soundbar to the stone wall. It depends on what your situation is.
If you have a cable tv box you want to hook up, make sure the cable actually works and the cable technician already set that whole thing up.
Also, it is advisable to test your new TV out of the box first thing before even beginning installation. And if you recently moved to a new location, still check the TV and make sure it works. I've been on-site and we hung the TV then went to go turn it on and the screen was damaged during his move from one house to another. Always, double-check that the TV works properly. And save the TV box, DO NOT throw away the box before I get there.
